This semester, I have learned a lot about Brazil. Through the research I have done all semester, I found that the worst natural hazards that Brazil faces are Floods and earthquakes. Brazils floods have been very deadly lately. The flooding in parts of brazil has been bad because of the excessive amount of rainfall they would get at a time. Brazil is located on the South American Plate. This plate covers all of South America. Earthquakes take a toll on the Brazilian government. Brazil losses about $64.4 million annually due to earthquakes. The largest earthquake to hit Brazil was a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in 2015 followed by a 5.9 magnitude aftershock. The earthquake struck a populated area near the Peru-Brazil boarder. Luckily, the earthquake did not cause a tsunami.
